Veggie Dish Contest
HellasVeg is organizing the Veggie Dish Contest “Veg.contest Thessaloniki 2024 – The city’s gastronomy is changing” to showcase the best veggie recipes (vegan and vegetarian) in restaurants across the greater Thessaloniki area.
The main goal of the contest is to introduce the city’s public, as well as visitors to our country, to the veggie recipes already available on the menus of many general dining restaurants. Additionally, it aims to encourage chefs to create new, imaginative, and nutritionally complete recipes that will be served as main dishes. Another objective is to promote and reward the restaurants that include and enrich their menus with veggie meals.

Key Evaluation Criteria
Sensory Characteristics
The public will be invited to taste and evaluate the dishes based on sensory characteristics, such as: Taste, Aroma, Appearance, Feeling of fullness, satiety. These criteria will help determine the overall experience and enjoyment of the vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Nutritional Characteristics
Experts on the judging panel will evaluate the dishes based on their nutritional value, including factors such as: Fat content, Protein content, Carbohydrate content (including sugars), Cholesterol levels and other nutritional factors. These criteria will ensure that the dishes are not only delicious but also nutritionally balanced.

Start of the contest and availability of dishes for evaluation.
June 2024
End of the contest and announcement of the results
Participation Declaration
Interested parties will need to submit their participation application electronically to info@hellasveg.gr and send a copy of their menu in electronic format (file in .docx / .pdf format, photo, or active link referring to the menu).
Participation in the contest is free for the restaurants.
This invitation will remain active until at the latest, 10/3/2024.
